The AI Video Workflow Canvas Built on Recipes

Workflow-first AI video. Save your craft once. Reuse it forever.

Astorie is the AI canvas for creators where your entire AI video workflow — every model, every prompt, every edit — gets saved as a reusable Template you can pull into any new project. We call them Recipes. Other AI video tools reset to zero on every post. On Astorie, your workflow compounds.

The leverage problem with AI video today

Most AI video tools sell you a prompt box. You type, generate, export, close the tab. By post #50, your “creative system” is a Notion doc full of copy-pasted prompts and a loose memory of which tool gave you that one good shot last month.

That’s the hidden cost of single-prompt tools: your creative output never compounds. Every TikTok hook is re-engineered from scratch. Every product reel is a fresh prompt-tuning session. Your style — the thing that took a year to develop — lives in your head, not a system.

Recipes fix that. A Recipe captures your full AI video workflow as one reusable Template on an infinite canvas built for production at scale.

What a Recipe is

A Recipe is your full canvas workflow, saved as a Template

Recipe is what we call a saved workflow on Astorie— every node, every model choice, every prompt, every edit treatment, every connection, captured as one reusable asset. Under the hood, it’s the Templates feature on the canvas. The button literally says “Save as Template.” We just like Recipe better as a name for what you actually get.

Think Lightroom preset, but for an entire AI video pipeline. A Recipe bakes in:

  • Which model handles each shot (Sora 2 for the establisher, Kling 3.0 for the action beat, Veo 3.1 for the talking-head)
  • Your prompt scaffolding (hook style, camera move, lighting language)
  • Your edit treatment (trims, masks, lipsync, upscaler chain)
  • Your output spec (aspect ratio, duration, captions, safe zones)

Pull a Recipe into a new project and you’re not starting from a blank prompt — you’re starting from your style.

Recipes are how creative work compounds

Every other AI video tool resets to zero on every post. Great Reel last Tuesday? Start over for Friday. Model upgraded? Re-tune your prompts. New campaign? Start fresh.

Astorie works the opposite way. Your AI video workflow becomes an asset that appreciates with every post:

  • Save once, scale infinitely. A Recipe takes 20 minutes to build, saves 20 minutes per post for the next 200 posts.
  • Style lives in the system, not your head. Your hooks, motion, cuts, color — encoded into nodes, not buried in a Notion doc.
  • Compounding output. Your library of Recipes is a creative moat no single-prompt tool can replicate.

This is why Astorie is an AI canvas for creators, not a generator. Generators produce clips. A canvas produces a creative system.

How a Recipe gets built

The fastest way: work normally, then save.

  1. Build the project on the canvas — text node for the prompt, image node for the reference, video nodes for each shot, tool node for upscaling.
  2. Connect. Iterate until the output is what you want.
  3. Save the workflow as a Template. (That’s the button — “Save as Template.”)
  4. Re-open it in a new project, swap the parts that change post-to-post (topic, product photo, script, brand color), keep everything else.

Drop the Recipe into any new project, swap the topic, run it.

How Recipes get shared

Two visibility modes ship today:

  • Private — saved to your account or your team workspace. The default for personal style work or in-house studio Recipes.
  • General / community-shared — you can mark a Template as public so other creators on Astorie can discover and use it. Standout community workflows get featured on the platform’s showcase ranking.

Recipes are how your creative authority moves out of your head and into a workflow other people can run. Workspaces let teams keep a shared library — same canvas structure, same models, same edits across producers.

Why we built the Recipe system

After years of watching creators redo the same prompt engineering on every post, the pattern is impossible to miss: the model isn’t the bottleneck, the workflow is. The same look that took a Tuesday afternoon to crack gets rebuilt from scratch by Friday. With more than 200 AI films produced on Astorie now, the lesson holds — single-prompt tools throw away the part that actually compounds: the chain of nodes, prompts, and edits that makes a piece feel like yours. Recipes exist so your craft becomes a reusable asset instead of a memory.

Example Recipes you can build on Astorie

The five workflows below are patterns creators build on Astorie, named here for illustration. They aren’t pre-shipped Templates that come in the box — they’re examples of what a Recipe looks like when assembled. Build your own variation, save it as a Template, reuse it forever.

Hook-Bait-Resolve — the TikTok narrative arc Recipe

A three-shot vertical workflow for TikTok and Reels. Hook: Sora 2 cinematic opener. Bait: Kling 3.0 unexpected cut. Resolve: Hailuo 2 stylized payoff. Lipsync via Veo 3.1 or InfiniteTalk. Captions, safe zones, and 9:16 framing baked in. Save it as a Template; swap the topic; ship 20 hooks in an afternoon.

5-Model i2v Fanout — the image-to-video comparison Recipe

Drop one product photo or character reference. The canvas fans it across five image-to-video models in parallel — Sora 2, Kling 3.0 native 4K, Veo 3.1, Luma Ray 2, Runway Gen4 — outputs side-by-side. Pick the best, trim, upscale with Topaz. The fastest way to find the right model per shot without committing to one tool.

Character Series — multi-shot consistency for YouTube narrative

For episodic content. Generate the character once with Ideogram Character or Seedream 4. Wire that reference into every shot node downstream. The Recipe enforces visual consistency across an 8-episode series — same face, same outfit, same world — without re-prompting every shot. Single-prompt tools can’t do this; the canvas-plus-Template model is what makes it possible.

Product Reel Pack — the IG Reel Recipe for ecommerce

For DTC brands. Drop a product hero shot in. The canvas runs background removal with Bria RMBG, fans the subject across three motion treatments (slow push, parallax, hero spin), adds a music bed via Suno V5, layers a voiceover with ElevenLabs v3, and outputs three 9:16 Reels plus one 16:9 cut. One photo, four publish-ready deliverables. Save the Template; duplicate it per SKU.

Music Video Beats — the per-section style Recipe for music creators

Drop your track in. Cut the audio into the sections you care about — verse, build, drop, breakdown — and route each section through a video node tuned for that beat’s energy: Kling for the drop, Wan for the build, Sora 2 for the breakdown. Each section’s video is timed to the section’s audio. Save the Template; swap the song; the look stays. Build a signature style across an entire EP rollout.

ComfyUI proved nodes are the right shape for AI workflows. Single-prompt tools proved creators want the cloud. Astorie is the first node-based AI canvas for creators that ships cloud-native, multi-model, with Template sharing built in. ComfyUI is for configuring; Astorie is for shipping.

Workflows creators actually run on Astorie

Building your first Recipe in 5 minutes

Open a new canvas. Drop in a text node for the topic, an image node for your style reference, and a video node — pick Sora 2 or Kling 3.0. Wire them. Generate. Adjust the prompt scaffolding until the output looks like you. Save the workflow as a Template. Done. Next project, open the Template, swap the topic, run.

Branching a Recipe for a brand campaign without losing your base style

You signed a sponsorship. The brand wants their palette and a specific product hero shot. Open your signature Recipe, duplicate the workflow, and modify the copy — swap one model node for the brand’s look, lock in the product image, save the variant as a separate Template. You now have two: house style, plus the brand variant. Your original stays clean.

Pulling a community Recipe into your workspace

Astorie surfaces community-shared Templates and a featured-workflow ranking on the showcase. Find a music-video workflow that nails a look you love, pull it into your canvas, swap the input audio, adjust the color pass, tweak one model node from Kling to Wan because Wan handles your aesthetic better. Ship. You start from a working pipeline instead of a blank canvas.

Team Recipe library for an agency or small studio

Your agency has four producers and a creative director. The director builds three master Recipes — hooks, product reels, case-study cinematics — and saves them as Templates in the team workspace. Producers open them and fill in: same canvas structure, same models, same edits. House style stays consistent across producers and clients without anyone retyping prompts. Onboarding becomes “here’s our Template library” instead of a 40-page Notion guide.

Frequently asked questions

What's a Recipe, exactly?

A Recipe is what we call a saved canvas workflow on Astorie — every node, model choice, prompt, edit treatment, and connection captured as a reusable asset. The product feature is called Templates (the button literally says "Save as Template"); Recipe is the name for the experience around them. Drop one into a new project, swap the parts that change (topic, reference image, script), and run.

Can I share Recipes with my team?

Yes. Save a Template in your team workspace and your producers can pull it. It's how agencies standardize house style across multiple creators without retyping prompts. Personal accounts have private Templates; workspace accounts get a shared library.

Can other creators use a Recipe I built?

Yes — if you mark it as community-shared. Astorie's Templates feature supports private and community-shared visibility. Community-shared workflows can be discovered by other creators, and standout workflows get featured in the platform showcase ranking.

Will my Recipe still work if a model gets updated or deprecated?

Mostly yes. The Template defines the structure — which nodes connect to which, with which prompts and edits. If a specific model version gets swapped, you typically just open the affected node and pick a current equivalent. Your workflow outlives any single model release.

Is this like ComfyUI?

Same core insight (nodes are the right shape for AI workflows), very different product. ComfyUI is local-first, GPU-required, engineer-leaning, JSON files in Discord. Astorie is cloud-native, no GPU, creator-first, multi-model out of the box, Template sharing built in. ComfyUI is for configuring; Astorie is for shipping.

How is a Recipe different from a "preset" or "template"?

A preset is a single setting. A "template" in most tools is a fill-in-the-blanks layout for one output. A Recipe on Astorie is the entire production pipeline — multiple connected nodes across models, prompts, and edits — captured as a workflow that runs end-to-end. We call it a Recipe because that's what it is: the full set of steps, in order, to produce the dish.

Can I sell my Recipes?

Today, Templates can be private or community-shared, with featured workflow placement for standouts. A creator marketplace — workflows-as-products — is something we're exploring ahead, not a feature shipping now. For the current build-an-audience play, share your Templates with the community.

Does my Recipe include my edits, not just the generation?

Yes. The Template captures every node on the canvas — generation nodes (image, video, audio), tool nodes (upscale, lipsync, background removal, frame extraction, masking), text nodes, connections, prompt scaffolding. The edit chain is part of the workflow.
